Unlock Yourself, Unlock Success

What would your mindset be if you were to run a marathon? You know your limits, even if you have what it takes to come first would go in with a mindset of -
  1. Beating the other guys or
  2. Wanting to finish first?
Now it may seem that there is no difference between the two, but if you look closely you would find out that there is a lot of difference. The basic difference is that, when you go there to beat other people, that time you are limiting your preparation to some extent more than others i.e. if person A works out for 3 hours in a day, you might workout for 4 hours thinking you are working out more but instead you are restricting yourself, you are keeping a limit with respect to someone else, your point of reference is someone who is a different entity you cannot compare! Whereas if you work out for coming first regardless of what people are doing, you become limitless, you stop living in insecurity, in fear and what happens when you stop living in fear you break free have a renewed spirit of conquering your dreams.

Lewis Hamilton
Lewis Hamilton
In a given situation, if Lewis Hamilton races to be faster than Nico Rosburg, he might win a couple of times but if he loses he would dwindle under his own wrath of first of all losing and secondly not winning. On the other hand if he races to come first he would just have a target of achieving it, not worrying to that extent from Nico, because his sole objective is coming first, and even if he loses the only regret that would haunt him is he lost and whatever happens to Nico wont distract him that much. Such is my point, we have heard from childhood that “Every Child is Special | Not everyone’s all fingers are same | Everyone has a different script written for themselves by God”, then why not implement it in real life? Why has life today become a race where the reference point is not yourself but someone else? I understand everyone is mature enough to know this, many won’t agree with my thinking or my point of view and I truly respect that, again because everyone sees the world differently, people may have similar opinion but it is impossible for two people to have exactly same opinion.

As a student why is it necessary for us to compare ourselves with our peers? Why is that we take into consideration other people’s lifestyle and try to integrate it into our own? Steve Jobs was only one classy man, he had a vision, he was one of a kind. He didn’t care about lot of things that weren’t related to him or he just focused on what he wanted to achieve and didn’t see any limits to achieve it!
Do your bestHis main objective was his vision, how he wanted to achieve his idea, he didn’t allow anything stand in his way, he went lengths and distance to achieve it! Again the point is what you want, not what others are doing and you have to follow, this is for those people who get depressed if they don’t score well. It is healthy being sad about your score if it’s less than your-self in-comparison to the past, but being sad because you scored less and your mates scored more is just allowing someone to stay rent free in your apartment (brain)! Person A, got 9.65 pointer and Person B, got 7.96 pointer. If B only cares to beat A then what is the use? B should aim for full 10 pointer instead of getting more than A, only then would B progress in reality. Everyone understands this but honestly ask yourself how many of you reading this article actually follow it? Keeping a tab on how much your competitors have studied is good, making it the sole reference is wrong. Hiding from people study material, if not helping others, then why do you take pride in advising someone “You know help someone with your knowledge it would help you revise!”, when you don’t intend to follow it. It has just become a myth!

Your life is not very easy, the reality is harsh, the life is tough it would give you pain in your ass! One other reality is our mindset, people who boast about being great without any real deal are faux, but people who boast about being great after they have achieved it are Achievers, Goal winners, Rule Setters, Out of the Box, misfits from others because there is a difference between them and reality! You have heard wise people keep their mouth shut, now look it from different point of view- even the people who don’t know stuff are also silent, so how should one differentiate a wise man from a fool? If you don’t speak up, always act dumb how is that the other person would realize your true potentials.

Rocket Kid
When the matters are of your career, it is better to boast and speak up if you have a substantial baseline, when Arjuna told Lord Shiva he didn’t know anything, he was talking to the almighty Lord/God. When you present yourself to someone you are not talking to GOD, you are talking to his creation, you can’t expect the one in front to be the Lord himself, who would already know your life history! It is necessary to understand that what you speak about yourself, what you think about yourself also gives you confidence, brings you unknown, unexpected opportunities and isn’t that good for your career and life? When before the exam a student comments “Oh shit! I have not studied anything I might fail” it can so happen that what he/she has said may come true, then what would you do? Instead if you speak the truth, maybe there are chances you may fail (if you haven’t prepared at all) but if you have prepared and know that perfectly you would have a self-reassurance, confidence and others hopes with you! When you speak up the truth, you help your peers also, they also get confidence speaking up then it may not necessarily mean your girlfriend/best-friend/boyfriend and it is not necessary to compare the preparations of two individuals since everyone is different. In a way you are helping them unknowingly, improving your karma and good deeds! To gain confidence first of all being truthful helps and secondly you have to reiterate to yourself stating- “Who’s the best? You are the best!” in front of a mirror but be careful there is a small thin line in between of being arrogant and confident!

My ideologies are different than maybe all of you reading this draft, I would appreciate you guys sharing your views on the topic hopefully I was clear enough in what I as a student come across and feel sometimes! Comment down below with your point of view and I may not make a great difference in your life, but if I am able to make even 0.000001% of change in how you view things my this article would be successful.

Innovators of Tomorrow

Indian Government is busy putting some bans and TRAI been trying to change the rules of Net Neutrality. Out of all these, the scary and important thing is, if TRAI is successful in changing Net neutrality rules then the big companies website will be fast enough to be loaded properly and the information related sites won't be in a position to load faster.

It blocks the learning pattern of an individual if all the websites on the internet are not equal and websites started paying to load their sites faster. There are few young innovators who are trying to solve one of the many biggest problem which the world is facing and it can help a lot, if implemented in a large scale. Young innovators like them who live in India won't be able to come up with such great innovation if net neutrality doesn't exists.

Let's take my own example, I and students like me learn almost a lot of things from the Internet from the things like java and coding related stuff to the things like making our own new cool video and uploading it on YouTube. If net is not neutral then it will loose the meaning of its existence. To support and read more information about Net neutrality you can visit this link: Net Neutrality

Now let's take a look at some of the young innovators I'm talking about:

Aidan Dwyer1) What do trees know that we don't? This was the question that a 13-year-old inventor Aidan Dwyer asked himself and realized that trees use a mathematical formula (i.e Fibonacci Sequence) to gather sunlight in crowded forests. Then he wondered why don't we collect solar energy in the same way? He then built a small solar panel model which collected solar energy efficiently throughout the day. Project Link

Mihir Garimella
2) Mihir Garimella thought of mimicking Fruit Fly Response Patterns for Threat Evasion. His only aim was to save lives with flying robots and use computer science and robotics to make a difference. After making such a great product, he said that "This is the world that I would like to be part of. But more importantly, one that I like to help create". Project Link

Viney Kumar3) Viney Kumar witnessed emergency response vehicles (ERVs) stuck in traffic, unable to respond to urgent calls. Instead of relying on sirens, Viney built a system using mobile technology and GPS to give earlier warning signals to drivers that an ambulance was on the way, increasing alert time from 7 seconds to 67 seconds. Project Link

Elif Bilgin4) Elif Bilgin created Bioplastics from Banana Peel when she realized that Petroleum based plastics are creating a lot of pollution which was a serious problem.

Shrishti Asthana5) Shrishti Asthana came up with "A Green Method to Clean Water". Her project uses a sustainable method to clean water of detergents and other contaminants. It all started when she visited one of the many textiles factories in Ludhiana. What caught her attention was the huge amount of waste of the factories that was thrown into the nearby drains. She asked the owner, "Is the waste treated before leaving the factory?" And he jokingly replied, "Do you treat the detergent water that leaves your house after washing clothes?"
And that question made her realize that enormous amount of detergent water that leaves houses also causes huge pollution in our cities. This inspired her to come up with a GREEN method for the degradation of detergent water and she was successful in doing so. Project Link

They all proved that for innovative things age doesn't matter. What matters is observation skills and trying to contribute to the well being of the world. If we only observe the surroundings properly, then we can learn a lot from them. Also, a lot of Innovations has only been possible because of nature and the huge amount of information that is available on the internet.

Creative and genius people don't have great intelligence or great answers to questions of life. They just have good questions in their mind. If you pick up any of the great innovators from the entire world. Then you will realize that they were not the people having great intelligence but instead they were the people who had great questions in their mind to ask universe for it.

Scientists, technologists, innovators, are just like you. They love trying things. Uncertain things. Ambitious things. Things that sound as crazy in our heads as they do out loud. Those are the things that make us get up, brush our teeth, and go risk our reputation on a hunch. Trying something new is the only way to make the next great thing. And the best part is, we all know how to do it. When you were a baby you unsuccessfully tried that new walking thing, for like, four months, and now you walk like a champion. Same with talking, swimming, riding a bike, etc. The desire to try new things is built into you. Now to take that desire, apply some science, and get ready to change the world. From earth's brightest builders to her bravest explorers, every accomplishment, every accolade, every bit of this round of applause started with a love of trying things.

So, I would like to end up with a small question,

Change the World

Key to Success: Setting Goals

A lot of people procrastinate, thinking that they will do it later when the time comes. But the reality is that the right time never comes for them.

Goal setting is important and to show why it is important, let us take an example: Consider a dark empty room with a football in some area of that room. Your objective is to find the football in that dark room. Obviously, you will take some time in finding the football and there will be some difficulty in finding it. But what if I switch ON the light of that room? You will find the football within seconds. This is how the goal setting works. If you don't set goals in your life then your life will be as difficult as the first case. But, when you have set your goals, then your life will be as easy as the 2nd case.

Also, we should be focused on our goals. Setting the goals and not working toward it, is a bad idea. It will not yield anything. Now you maybe thinking, what could drive you to achieve your goal? The answer is simple. Let's look into life and analyze something to get to your answer.

What if someday, God appeared before you and said that, you have only 1 year until you die. What will you do? Will you waste your year on crying and being depressed? No. At first, you will actually look into your life and think about all the activities, achievements, moments, etc you have done upto now. And then you will realize you have wasted your whole life doing something that added no value to your life and was completely useless. Let's have a look at some things which you should realize.

Here are the Top 5 regrets people have before dying:
  1. I wish I'd had the courage to live a life true to myself, not the life others expected of me.
  2. I wish I hadn't worked so hard.
  3. I wish I'd had the courage to express my feelings.
  4. I wish I'd stayed in touch with my friends
  5. I wish I had let myself be happier.
And the question is, if you died the very moment what will die with you? The ideas, the dreams, the talents, all die with you. Don't let the fear of striking out stop you from playing the game. And think about this,

If you could fail at doing what you don't like or doing what you hate, then you might take a chance and do what you really love doing.

Realizing this, plays an important role because after that very moment you will start thinking about what you really want to do in life. And believe me, within that one year you will do an exceptionally amazing job. You will spend every minute of your day doing what you really want to do. You will spend more time with your family and loved ones. You will live your life to the fullest. Not only that, by the end of that one year you will achieve something that no one thought you would achieve. Even you will be surprised by your achievements in that year. In the end, you will die happy without any regrets.

Look within yourself and decide that you are in charge of your destiny. And when you decide that you're going to DO IT, the universe will yield to you and life will never be the same again. You have the power to create machines, power to create happiness and if you decide that your life deserves your developing, master yourself and show the world what you can do.

You have something special, you have greatness within you and you were born phenomenal. So, become fearless and achieve your goals.

Lastly, I would like to end with a quote saying,

Achieve your goals
